this is my first actual piece or chain maille jewellery. It is a bracelet done in Dragonscale. 20 gauge wire, rings have an ID of 6mm , and 4.5mm (i think). it is approx. 21.5 cm long, not including clasp (large lobster clasp) and 3cm wide.
I'm actualy quite proud of this, though I'm sure there is room for improvement. I'm planning on giving it to my boyfriend if he likes it and will wear it, but if not I'll just shorten it enough to fit me and wear it myself
Hmm....I'm saying this with the utmost respect just for the sake of correctness...Dragonscale uses two different sizes of rings that never intertwine with the same size ring. I just going on the basis of your description (because for some reason the picture isn't coming up) that you used only one size. The preview I saw looked really nice though...the small sized picture.

lol whoops, yeh i did use two different size rings, i only did the larger or the two measurements, will correct it now, and i find that if a picture doesnt come up in small view it will in full view.

I'll have to see if I can find a picture of one of the ones I made....it looks really awesome with really small rings....I've actually been making chainmaille for a few years.

that would be cool, i'm thinking of making a smaller version , with the smallest rings about 2mm ID . i love looking at other peoples maille work, so interesting, and get ideas/inspiration for stuff i can make

I used rings a little bit bigger than that for the smallest ones....when you start to get that small though it gets real tedious. The one I made took about 6 hours if I remember correctly. I made a watch as well, but that was 6 in 1. I'll post pictures of that soon. I have to get both pieces back from the person who has them. And my camera...

Perfect dragonscale or not, the piece is very beautiful. I should ask my girlfriend to have a look at the piece. Although I'm probably not interested in buying, I am curious in finding out if you make these for sale and if so how expensive?
Great work!

thankyou i actually made this one for my boyfriend, i need to adjust it a bit, was a bit generous with the sizing, but as for price, if i was going to sell it, maybe around $35/$40 Australian dollars
taking into account time, material costs etc. i used silver coated copper wire for this one, but if i was to use something like stainless steel or sterling silver, or another more expensive material, the price would probably be quite a bit higher. Thanx for asking
